Looks just like dad!

Daniel looks just like his dad! It is quite funny. I always thought that there wasn't a single set of genes out there that could mask the dominant Oliver genes...but it has been done! We always try to find some part of Daniel that looks like my set of genes...and finally we did it...Jeff says that he has my ear lobes. Yes!...and might I add that he is lucky, because they are mighty fine ear lobes! Here is a picture of Jeff at birth and Daniel. It is crazy how similar they are!

Jeff and Daniel

This has been the greatest blessing in having a son...watching his Dad love him and play with him. These two have so much fun. Daniel really loves cuddling his dad. Jeff has really taken to the roll too. He has been teaching him how to shave, has been preparing bottles the manly way (notice a wrench instead of tongs to grab the bottles), making cute flower arrangements for mom, just friendly teasing all the time, and introducing him into the wonderful world of Superman. Jeff loves this picture because he thinks Daniel looks like "the son of Gerrel" aka baby Superman in this blanket...watch the movie...you will get it! Jeff is such a wonderful daddy!

Thanks for all the visits!

The hospital experience was a little terrifying for me seeing that I have never even had to go to the hospital for even a cold. All the visits really helped me! It was so much fun seeing everyone!

Daniel Jeffrey Sorensen is here!

Daniel arrived March 31, 2009 weighing in at 8lbs. 1oz. He was 19 1/2'' long with a perfect head. I delivered him via a scheduled c-section 5 days overdue. He just wouldn't drop and was getting so big! He is such a sweet baby. I have enjoyed every second!

Arizona

Jeff has been interviewing at schools all over lately. It has been a great experience for him to see different places. His favorite visit so far has been Arizona...mainly because he has been able to spend time with his Grandma Henning who lives out there. Both times he has visited he has expressed to me how much he loves and respects his grandma. She is such an amazing woman. She has been through so much in her lifetime and has had so many experiences. My husband and son are so lucky to come from such good stock!

Jeff's Birthday

Jeff and I decided to have his party at our little apartment. It was a ton of fun. Now Jeff's mom usually does the big birthday dinner...and does a fabulous job! I wanted to take care of that this year, so we had a pasta bar at our house. It was so much fun. It was so perfect to have everyone over. Jeff loved it! I think his favorite part of the night was when he received a new backpack/baby carrier for hikes. Too cute!

Cakes, New Year, and Bowling...

Jeff and I tried to get in all the fun times that we could while it was just the two of us. We had a early New Year...pregnant girls just can't make it the whole night. We have been making cakes...and I guess this pregnant girl can't do that either! We had to take a picture of this one because it was completely falling apart...tasted great though!...and then there is bowling...a little rough when the ball is the size of your belly! We have had such a great time making memories together.

Christmas

Christmas was a blast! Jeff and I were able to visit both families, and even have time to have a little Christmas of our own. Here is Jeff in his new Christmas PJ's and shoes...he was a little tired after that long day!
